AFFB
In stock

This 98oz Heavy Duty fireblanket is a premium quality and extra heavy-duty blanket, used for a variety of applications in heavy industry and aerospace as a shield against heat, flame, fire, molten metal, weld spatter/splatter and sparks.

It can be easily fabricated into a wide variety of covers such as festoon cable protection covers, EAF cable covers (electric arc furnace cable covers), and other heavy duty protection devices. Grommets, rivits and fasteners with backing washers can be used to easily attach this fabric to enclosures or machinery.

These fabrics are commonly used as weld splatter protection blankets, or used as a facing material in fabricating high-temperature insulating blankets. Liquid metal simply bounces off the extra thick coating of high-temperature silicone rubber.

The material can withstand continuous temperatures of up to 500°F / 260°C; Molten Splash or welding spatter/splatter at 2200°F / 1205°C for periods up to 15 minutes and short excursions to 3000°F / 1650°C.
